  • Day 2 | From OUARZAZATE to ZAGORA

The Oasis, the canyons and the Valley of Dra

    • 9:00 am Group departure from Riad to the track of the Oasis of Fint. The group is accompanied during 3 km as the wadi is constantly changing; followed by individual departures at the bottom of the hill at the end of the Wadi. Forty minutes of off-road driving followed by 40 km of tar sealed road up to the second track of the morning.
    • This track passes by the waterfalls of Tizguit, a wonderful trip through the canyons and technical climb up the hill with two impressive corners and stop in Agdz at the end of the track for lunch by the palm grove.
    • 2:30 pm Departure on both tracks towards the valley of the river Draa with the highest palm grove in the world up to Zagora. We’ll pass through various villages to discover rural life in the south of Morocco. At the end of the track we’ll see a village in ruins in the middle of the palm trees. Return on the tar sealed road with a break to take pictures in Ternata, where we’ll enjoy a beautiful view over the palm grove. From there it’s only 5 minutes to get to our magnificent Riad.
    • Rest before dinner and end of day.

  • Day 3 | From ZAGORA to SAHARA

Direction south, the dunes of the Sahara and camping

    • 9:00 am Departure from Riad (our itinerary will take us through the village of Tamgrot, a prestigious place for Moroccan crafts). You can leave the hotel 30 minutes earlier to visit the village or do some shopping. All details on parking can be found on your Tripy and Jamal will help gather our guests and help them get back on the track.
    • The first track will lead us to Anagamen and passes through a little known Berber village. Our guests appreciate visiting this place.
    • After visiting this village, we’ll do a navigation test before hitting the desert. You can look forward to great surprises.
    • The second track is the Tagounite one. Even before reaching this track, we’ll start feeling the unique atmosphere of the Sahara: the sand on the tracks, the change in colour and the first dunes after 2 km. We will also see the problems connected to the dryness which affects this region.
    • After Tagounite, at the top of the Jebel, enjoy the grand views: on one side the plain of the river Draa and on the other the Sahara awaiting us. The third track of the day will pass through the sand and dunes of Erg Lehoudi. This is the first contact with the Sahara, always accompanied by the Tripy, and promising unforgettable sensations for everyone. After a few kilometres, you will have to manage your way through the sandy wadi and the dunes. It won’t be difficult so long as you are focused. Do not worry if you’re nervous. Our team will be there to help you when needed. With the first contact with the dunes the navigation becomes increasingly important. In M’hamid El Guizlane we’ll return on the tar sealed road to the hotel where the pool will be waiting for us before lunch.
    • Before departing at 2:30 pm, we’ll hold an informative session to recap the principles of navigation and the safety rules. Departure every 4 minutes. You are now able to drive in the Sahara and the dunes and will be able to experience very special and unique moments. After a break close to the large dunes of the dry wadi and some pictures (this is where our team will verify if everyone is present!!), all vehicles will drive behind the guides as the navigation will become very difficult at this stage. We will now continue our itinerary on a magnificent sand track through the dunes of Lérg Chegaga, driving in the direction of the sunset and admiring the play of light and shadows of the Sahara. We will take a break close to our camp-site to watch the sunset. Afterwards we’ll drive to our camp-site to experience the much awaited moment of dusk and night in the Sahara.
    • Short rest before dinner and dusk.

  • Day 4 From CHEGAGA to OUARZAZATE

The last dunes, the lake Iriki, the rocky mountain range and return to Ouarzazate

    • Departure from the camp-site at 8:00 am (every 4 minutes) after enjoying the breakfast in front of the dunes of Erg.
    • We will be using our navigation tool to find the path on this labyrinth of Saharan vegetation. After this exercise we’ll enjoy 30 minutes of driving through the last dunes before the Lake Iriki. We’ll exit the desert through the tracks close to the rocky mountain range, worthy of the best Western film scenes, passing by gorges and an oasis. We’ll continue through a tar-sealed road in the direction of the bustling town Foum Zguid where a lunch will be waiting for us.
    • After lunch, we’ll return to the road for 80 km up until close to the small town of Tazenacht and follow the last track of our adventure, which will remind us of the Pikes Peak in the USA, taking us through windy roads back to Ouarzazate.
